Terms of Service
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. Agreement
fetchd (“fetchd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the fetchd lost-and-found platform at fetchd.it, including each school’s portal (together, the “Service”). By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. Who Can Use fetchd
The Service is for students and staff of schools that have arranged with us to use fetchd, signing in with the Google or Microsoft account their school issued them. Your school decides who at the school may use the Service, stays in charge of how it’s used there, and can ask us to remove content or close access at any time. If you’re under 18, you may use the Service only as part of your school’s use of it, under your school’s direction.
3. What fetchd Is (and Isn’t)
fetchd is a digital bulletin board for your school’s lost and found: found items are reported with a photo, school staff review each report before it becomes visible, students search and claim, and staff approve every pickup.
We never take possession of any physical item. The items themselves stay with your school, and everything about them — where they’re kept, who an item actually belongs to, and how any dispute over ownership is resolved — is decided by school staff, not by us. Listing an item on fetchd is not a promise that it will be claimed, and claiming one is not a promise that you’ll receive it; the school’s decision is final.
4. The Rules
When you use the Service, you agree to:
- Report items truthfully — describe what you actually found, where and when you found it.
- Claim only items that genuinely belong to you. False claims aren’t just against these Terms; your school will treat them under its own code of conduct.
- Photograph the item, not people. Don’t upload photos that show other students, or anything inappropriate for school.
- Use your own account, and only yours.
- Not probe, overload, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the Service or try to access data that isn’t yours.
Your school’s code of conduct applies to everything you do on the Service, and discipline for breaking it is your school’s call. We may also suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we’ll loop your school in when we do.
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of the photos and descriptions you submit. So the Service can work, you give us permission to store them and show them to verified users at your school, as described in our Privacy Policy. School staff can edit or remove any report, and we delete content on the schedule the Privacy Policy describes.
6. Availability
The Service is provided free of charge, as-is and as-available. We work to keep it reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be up, and we may change, pause, or discontinue features — or the Service itself — with notice to your school where practical.
7. Our Property
The fetchd software, design, and name are ours. These Terms don’t give you a right to copy or reuse them. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them to improve the Service without owing you anything — though we do appreciate them.
8. Disclaimers and Limits on Liability
To the fullest extent Pennsylvania law allows: the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied; we are not responsible for the loss, damage, theft, or non-return of any physical item; and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to $50. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Ending Use
You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. If your school stops using fetchd, its data is handled according to our agreement with the school and the Privacy Policy’s retention rules.
10. Changes to These Terms
If we change these Terms, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we’ll make it easy to notice — for example, on the school portal home page. Using the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and any dispute that ends up in court belongs in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
